Get the GLOW!!!
By Becca Hunton, 19/01/23
So I have lost count how many times I have been asked.. "how do I get glowing skin for my big day"Here's my TOP 5 TIPS!
1. Stay hydrated.. this is so important. Sometimes the fine lines that can appear are from dehydration. Drinking water plumps up your skin and can reduce those fine lines. Reducing your alcohol and caffeine intake will help as both of those dehydrate your skin. I have replaced my morning coffee with a fizz stick... gamechanging! (I'll tell you more about those later)
2. Skincare routine.. haveing a good routine in place morning and night will help you achieve that gorgeous glow. Make sure you have the correct products to suit your skin type and concerns.
Making sure all your make up is removed is vital, using a good exfoliater will help remove all old make up debris and dead skin cells which when left behind makes your skin look dull.
Two of my favourite ingredients for glowing skin are bakuchiol and vitamin C. Bakuchiol is a plant based retinol which is less harsh on the skin than using retinol (vitamin A). Vitamin C doesn't mix with retinol but it does work well with bakuchiol, so you are getting two top ingredients working together.
3. LOOK AFTER YOUR GUT.. good skin starts from within!
Your gut is your second brain and when your gut is out of whack, so are your hormones, stress levels, poor digestion which in turn all
leads to tired looking skin which can then breakout too. To keep my gut health in check I drink a combination of greens (37 fruits and veggies), fruit flavour fizz stick full of B vitamins, a pre and pro biotic, and a collagen booster. I add all of these to a big bottle of water. Drinking this daily has considerably improved my skin. I feel less bloated and have tons more energy.
4. Clean your make up brushes.. washing your make up brushes removes all the old make up and skin cells which bacteria can grow on. Washing your brushes is so important. It not only keeps your skin looking lovely but your make up goes on much better too.
5 . Good quality make up.. this is so important. I think of my base make up as the last stage of my morning skincare routine. You want something that covers but nourishes and protects your skin at the same time. My all time fave base Arbonne CC cream, it's lightweight, doesn't clog pores, it moisturises and protects from pollution and the sun. It's also an SPF30. Always wear an SPF even in the winter.
